Orchard: Originally known as Fremont’s Orchard, the town was frequented by wagons and travelers heading west on the Platte River Trail and included a stage stop and post office that opened in 1863. The fictional town of Centennial, featured in the 1970s and 1980s television miniseries of the same name, was primarily filmed near Orchard. Today, this tranquil farming community is home to fewer than a hundred residents despite being about an hour northwest of Denver.
